Nissan Child Safety
One of Nissan’s chief priorities when designing and creating their vehicles has always been ensuring that all their passengers are safe, including children. Nissan believes that safety starts even before you start driving. As parents, it’s all about finding the right seat when it comes to your children’s safety. Nissan engineers, together with renown child seat manufacturers, have brought to life a new safety initiative to make sure children are even safer in any Nissan vehicle. The Snug Kids™ program helps parents select the appropriate car seat that is both suitable for their children and Nissan vehicle.
Nissan Child Safety Important Guidelines
Here are a few important guidelines to keep in mind when choosing a child restraint system and how to safety attach it to your vehicle.
Depending on the age and weight of your child, a certain type of car seat is required for each:
- From birth to 1 year and between 20 to 22 pounds: rear-facing seat.
- From 1 year to 4 years: front-facing seat.
- From 4 years to 10 years: booster seat.
When attaching the car seat to your vehicle make sure to safely fasten (making sure the seat is not loose) the car seat with safety belts or anchors and snug the child to the seat. As part of the Snug Kids ™ program, the Nissan LATCH system restraints the back seat without having to use seat belts. These various technology features all have one goal: a better fit for a safer trip and to help keep your most precious cargo safe!
